What is Faith?
Faith is how our heart works.
It is not our understanding, which is how our head works.
1.
Faith is a revelation that something God says in His Word is actually true. We suddenly ‘get it’. We realise the truth of something without using our brains to get there. We believe Him and we ‘see’ the truth of His Word.
And, oddly enough, we gain more understanding of God, and His ways… and faith gives us that understanding.
2.
Faith is not wishful thinking, like ‘when I win Lotto’, or ‘I hope tomorrow is sunny’.
Faith is not something you can be talked into today, because someone can talk you out of it tomorrow. That’s just an opinion.
That was Mrs Adam’s mistake: she was talked out of believing what God had said. She believed Satan’s opinion.
3.
Faith is the God-given ability to hear and believe that what He says is the Truth.
Romans 10:17
‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’
It is when God speaks directly to our faith centre – our heart – and we hear and understand Him.
4.
Faith is so simple, that Jesus likened it to the nature of children:
Matthew 18:3
Jesus said ‘Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.’
He said this because children naturally believe: they don’t scoff and doubt and intellectualise. Be like them.
5.
Faith gives us the ability to believe God’s Word and His promises, starting with salvation and eternal life.
Romans 10v10
‘For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.’
This site encourages all who seek more faith to listen to God’s Spoken Word every day.
As you listen, you will hear Him speaking to you of His great love for you.
And, He will do three things:
1. He will increase your faith,
2. He will open to you the mind of Christ,
3. He will draw you near to His heart, and to a closer walk with Him.
May he bless you as you hunger and thirst for Him, for He will satisfy your longing soul.
